What will the Raps do..

“I, like God , do not play with dices, and do not believe in coincidence” - V in “V for Vendetta”
Ironically in a twist of fate the Raptors secure the #1 spot, and overcame the 8.8 % shot they had at getting it. What this means for Raptors fans is simple, a brighter future. Giving Colangelo the first round draft pick, is in many ways like giving Jordan the ball with 2 seconds left in a game 7 of the NBA finals, you know he’s going to make magic.
Now with that said what will Colangelo do? No doubt, it’ll be the best thing for the franchise, but what exactly does he have in store?
Here is where I submit the following few options as I see them to date.
Firstly the Raptors are in the market for a few new things:
1) A new PG. We have no choice but to rid ourselves of the arrogant, narcissistic Mike James. This is a guy, who no one even knew about until he was on the Raptors. Sure he has a play off ring, but its fair to say that he never won anything on his own, or helped Detroit win it. But more importantly then all of that, there is a more important reason why Mike James has to go,”He just doesn’t fit in” - Martha Stewart. He’s not Colangelo’s type of of PG, hes a shoot first, pass later type of a guy, and that’s just not acceptable in Raptors land with the new sheriff and all.
2) A Center. The raptors are shaping up to have one of the best front courts in the league. Bosh and Villanueva have shown that they are true all stars, both having there 40 + nights. Even so, neither of them are true centers, and for that reason alone a center is something we could use. Imagine Bosh and Villie at Forwards, then give them a decent low man and bam, things are going good.
Now with that said it will be interesting to see which way the Raptors lean. A name that seems to be coming up everywhere with the #1 pick and all is Bosh’s boy, Aldridge. However Colangelo dismissed these rumors saying that he doesn’t see Aldridge shaping up into a top a center of the likes of Shaq or Amare, and with Bosh and Villie V in the back court he doesn’t see that much of a need for him.
Bosh made it clear that he doesn’t see the need for another finesse style big man on the team and feels that what the Raptors really need is a good pg who “passes us the ball”, and a pg who “makes the open the shots”. I find it safe to say that Bosh is as sick of James as I am.
Seeing as to how Bosh agrees with me, I think its safe to say that the Raptors will be getting a new PG in this off season so, so long Mike James, who? exactly.. I can’t say who we’ll be getting in his place since I’m not in tune with the market so I’ll leave that to the Real GM’s here to speculate.
Colangelo has made it more the obvious and clear that he intends to bring Andrea Bargani here, and I doubt he’d waste the #1 pick. What I see happening more or less is him giving up the first round pick for a possible 5th, 6th. Getting rid of Mike James (how he does it I don’t really care as long as he gets rid of him). I can see Alvin Williams retiring, opening up some more space, thus giving the Raptors more options.
In result the Raptors have a ‘bang em low’, front court in Bosh and Villie V in addition to a pg who can get them the ball. They also got the 3 pt line up in Peterson, Bargani, Villie V, and the new PG.
As far as Bosh being the future, I see Colangelo wanting to focus the team more around Bargani in the future more then around Bosh.(Just by the way he bigs up Bargani already)
But then again maybe Colangelo is just Machiavellian in his ways. Bigging up Bargani selling the idea to other GM’s and positioning himself to make some quick grabs while everyone else has their eyes are on the next big thing.
Anyways here’s a video of Bragani I found on google video so now to leave y’all to it.

I’m all for trading this pick. Here’s my trade with Portland.
To Portland:
Sign & Trade Mike James (Unrrestricted Free Agent)
#1 Overall Pick
2nd Round Pick
To Toronto:
Sign & Trade Joel Pryzbilla (Unrrestricted Free Agent)
Jarret Jack
#4 Overall Pick
Blazers get something in return for Joel Pryzbilla because he’s leaving anyway and they get the 1st overall pick. The Raptors get a Center whos gonna block shots and grab rebounds and hussel as well as a decent PG whos buddies wit CB4 plus the fourth pick which we use to draft RUDY ***!
RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!
I was talking to Collangelo, and he told me that he is going to trade the pick packaged with some players to Boston for Paul Pierce.
I told Collegelina, ‘Nah Kal-El dont do that”
then he looks at me and says:
“This is going to be stuff of legend” then the man turns around and walks off into the sun set.
Shaquille Hu Akbar
Collengelo aka Kal-El Is the future
NO MORE PHANTOM ZONE FOR THE RAPTORS!
and now for the real analysis………getting bargani is a waste unless u wanna either trade him or v’nova. u cant have 2 future allstars playing SF/PF, even though it is a good problem to have
I like gagans trade, but its not going down, wat would james wanna do in portland? Also, why would a rebuilding franchise want James? Getting pryzibilla would be goood, but its not gonna happen without getting rid of maybe mopete.
Sooo, i say, just keeep the pick and get aldrigde, even though it prolly wont happen. He’s a big guy so once shaw retires in 2 years he wont have any problems i nthe east. 2ndly, a centre is the hardest commodity to find in the nba, dont pass one up when u got the chance or ur stuck with arujo. Thirdly, u can always find good SG/SF so dont waste the pick on ***. and since u got ukic and calderon (both of whom are “Kal-El” type pointguards, u dont need to try getting one
just look at the roster if u get aldridge
Aldrige - arujo
Bosh - pape sow
V’nova - grahm
Mopete
calderon - ukic
now add some depth over the next year and watch the young ppls grow in the next 2 years, maybe upgrade the 2-guard thru free agency (mad cap space) and in 3 years as long as aldrigde the pgs dont flop, we got a championship contender in Tdot
if u listen to collangelo he syas bargani will end up big and stronger than alrdidge… so if u dun know now u know..
he envisions bargani playing SF and C like nowitzki does, and bosh can also play some C… ill team, no one can match up with 3 7 footers… and if u need to play shaw, bring aruojo of the bench….
Nah man Raps need to get Rudy ***. This man unbelievable. The worst he’ll ever be is a good defender. As for C, we gettin pryzbilla via Free Agency if not by trade.
Yo first of all the names SHAQ with a Q stop doing typos.
Bargnani is the best fit here is we are not trading the pic. If we trade the pic that is different and changes the whole scenario. Yes Centres are hard tofind but the NBA is changing. Look at Phoenix. If we get Bargnani he will be at an entry level contract and we will still have money to spare. Then you can get a good 2 guard or even an ill PG. Having 3 7 footers will be ill. Bargnani is a Dirk in the making and he at this age is already attacking the basket, which Dirk learned to do this year.
Doesn’t matter with a guy like COlangelo he knows what hes doing, thas why he getiin paid the millions while we post our comments thinking who would be good here.
It’s only gonna go up for the raptors from here.
Like Bosh said, the Raptors need a banger. I don’t know if Bargnani is your man. But I haven’t seen him play so I don’t know.
“It’s only gonna go up for the raptors from here.”
Go up, no. Unless you consider shiit to poop being an improvement.
COLUMBUS… your sixers are going nowhere but down. your all washed up, already reached your ceiling. pretty low ceiling i must say
bargnani’s ability to play isn’t definitive going from the play in italy to the nba is a big jump; his high light real isn’t that impressive anyways (no one contesting his shots and much smaller guys on the court- the talent level isn’t much competition in italy) picking him is taking a risk.
aldridge- is to much like chris bosh and has hip surgery in the 2005 off season. He has a weak shooting game as well
Thomas- is a terrific blocker gets up quick but he’s 6′8 and doesn’t fill any void for toronto.
Magloire is a good center that is rumored to be getting traded this summer. Having first pick perhaps we should trade down and pick rudy ***. he has some real nice potential and he’s only been with the uconn for a year i.e. 1 year of coaching. This guy can dunk as welll!! good energy guy. http://youtube.com/watch?v=GTfHMilglsk&search=rudy%20gay
check out some of his highlights
Magloire at centre would be much better than aldridge.
On a side note i hope they pick denham brown as well!! he’ll probably be available during the second round.
rudy ***………reminds me of shawn marion……without the ugly looking shot, but you really want someone with the last name *** on the raptors? I owuldnt even be able to say his name at home, i’d havce to call him rudy, which also seems like a *** name to me. So i’d prolly end up calling him rudolph, or red nose or something like that
Toronto should get Rudy *** no doubt. This man is a wicked dunker and has lots of energy.
“COLUMBUS… your sixers are going nowhere but down. your all washed up, already reached your ceiling. pretty low ceiling i must say ”
Have you bought me a stock with Comcast that you are calling them my Sixers. If so, I sincerely thank you. How kind of you.
I am not the one in denial. I know the Sixers suck. I know they will continue to suck so long as Webber is still on the team. Having already reached the ceiling? Sure. Pretty low? Taking a game from the best team in the last decade in the FINALS? A team that swept its way through the playoffs up to the final? Well, I guess I will just have to beg to differ. On that note, out of curiosity, have the Raptors ever had a ceiling? They’ve had Carter, they’ve had Mcgrady, Camby, Damon, Christie, how far has it gotten them. They’ve been stuck on POTENTIAL for years on end now. Come back to me when they get past that P word, until then…well, the Raptors suck.
I’m bored so, imagine.
PG-Mighty Mouse
SG-Half Man, Half Amazing
SF-T-MAC
PF-Oakley??(This is all before CB4, so dun remember who the best PF was)
C-Camby
But it wasn’t to be. And that Expansion committee screwed us over. We would’ve had KG wit our 1st overall pick or Rasheed. The next year we would’ve take Starbury at #2. Imagine if **** was different but the same up until carter got drafted.
PG-Starbury
SG-Vince
SF-Tracy
PF-Kevin Garnett
C-Anybody…
And thank you Gursimran for bigging up the 2001 Lakers as the best playoff team in the last decade. Thank you, thank you very much.
“And thank you Gursimran for bigging up the 2001 Lakers as the best playoff team in the last decade. Thank you, thank you very much.”
So how much stock do you have with the Lakers you nincompoop.
Raptors suck, and thise white boy schooling a bunch or Europeans is going to do nothing to help them.
