NBA Finals…

Writing by shinda on Monday, 5 of June , 2006

The final installment in our playoff round-up, has Miami pitted against Dallas.

Firstly, that last round was amazing. Miami clobbered Detroit, although Detroit put up a fight, the Justice League prevailed, with The Glove coming up big, and playing once again like he was in his old Seattle Supersonics jersey. Shaq, anyone else catch the block on him? I’ve never seen someone push Shaq to the floor like Big Ben did, but eh, even Superman falls.

As for the Phoenix, Dallas series, yea I dropped the ball on this one, but then again like readers commented in the past, I went with what I wanted rather then what would. Although Phoenix slugged it out for as long and as hard as they could, end of the day the current Suns team just isn’t up to par. They were able to out-run the Lakers, and the Clippers, but Dallas was on pace with them when it came to playing Phoenix ball, and were able slow things down just a notch by playing there lock down defense. I don’t think there was a doubt in anyone’s mind that this Dallas team wasn’t playoff bound, but when you got a team like the Suns who in every matchup were the underdogs, you just can’t help but to love them..

With that said lets look at how everyone else did..

Harsimran - 1/2 + 1
Tejdeep - 2/2
Gagan - 2/2
Mandeep - 1/2 + 1
Heera - 1/2 + 1
Columbus - 2/2 + 1
Gurjet - 2/2 + 2
D.Singh - 1/2 + 1
Jason - 1/2
Cincinnati - 1/2
Kamaldeep - 1/2
Myself - 1/2 + 1

So winner of that round was Gurjeet, but then again anything less would be disappointing.

As for the finals match up, this is definitely a tough one, and will be a fun one to watch.

Dallas has the run gun game of Phoenix, and the stellar defense of the Pistons. All in all they are the team to beat in this one. Miami and the justice league have been playing like crap, the whole playoffs. Shaq is playing like an uninspired third wheel, although his comments are still at par. Wade is looking tired, but then again he’s going into this series well rested. Payton, is playing like he was 10 years younger and in many ways put the team on his back. Truthfully I’d call Dallas to beat Miami in 6, but due to my long standing relationship with my brotha from anotha motha, I’m (out of fear of being smacked and not invited to watch the games) go with the Heat. Clearly they’re the underdogs here, but Paytons been playing with heart, after all this is his last chance at getting the championship. This is clearly Shaq’s last chance to prove that he’s a champion with and without Kobe, and as far as Wade, if he’s ever going to win a championship then its now. So Miami in 7.

Now ‘yall know the drill, so get to it..

“Miami and the justice league have been playing like ****, the whole playoffs. Shaq is playing like an uninspired third wheel, although his comments are still at par. Wade is looking tired, but then again he’s going into this series well rested.”

Nah shinda man, that could not have been more wrong…..

Miami has never, never played this good in its entire history, after game 1 of the nets, they clicking on all cylinders. While I was reading this, my blood was boiling until I came ot this “Truthfully I’d call Dallas to beat Miami in 6, but due to my long standing relationship with my brotha from anotha motha, I’m (out of fear of being smacked and not invited to watch the games) go with the Heat. ” ahahhh that fixed things there…

but on the real note, this is going to the hardest series for the HEat, they dispatched the pistons with some ease, but it was still a hard fought series..

Here’s my analysis:
Disco Dirk is a one man wrecking crew, ruining teams in the western conference.
JOsh howard: maybe the best overall player on that team
JT: overrated in a contract season so is playing hard
Dampier: overreated and out of shape
Stack: getting old but can still hit that open jumper
Harris: quick, but still young and takes dumb shots
AVery: smart coach, who no doubt will get his troops ready

The mavs are truly a match up problem for the heat, but no one though the heat would beat the nets, and hten everyone thought they got lucky with the nets and were goign to lose to them pistons.

But I gotta say on thing, re-iterate it again. Shaquillee Hu Akbar..

Wade is playing at a higher level than anyone in the NBa. Yes ladeis and gentlemen he is better than bron, i dont care what anyone says.

Payton is still the glove, a bit looser fit though
“if hte glove fits, we must equit”

Walker: Really shutting me up, I didnt like his acquisition, but he is drawing the defense to him and passing it to shaq, just like he is supposed to

j-will: That was a nuts shooting display, of drives, pull ups threes everything..Man had a shot-gun for an arm

Haslem: Best PF shaq has ever had. does everything rigth

Zo: second best centre in the leauge

Posey: Defense…..DEfense….Defense

So, in light of my player critique, I will write what happens in the series also

game 1: Miami by 6
gme 2: Dallas by 13
game 3: Miami by 8
gaem 4: Miami by 4
game 5: Miami by 6

Shaquille O’neal finals MVP, fitted for his fourth ring.
Wade begins his ascension as the next heir to jordan, beginning to surpass KObe as the apparent.
Payton retires. Hall of famer, trash talker, baller
Zo retires: Great career cut short by kidney problems

Therefore, Thank you shinda for posting this kind of blog.

oh yeah i forgot about the Don:

Pat Riley just looks too slick for anyone to doubt him.

He has the combo of a young Pacino and DeNiro.

I’m telling you, he could have starred in the movie HEAT and people would of thought it was one of them..

Shaq said RIley is the best coach he has ever had….

and the man had Phil…. So what shaq says goes

I could spend this hole post going insane on that comment..buttt..

actually im going to do it anyways.

I have nothing but pure hatred for this guy. Have I been buying stocks of Hatorade from Costco? Oh hell yes when it comes to this ***. (any Raptor fan knows why) He’s up there with the British in Braveheart, Nina in 24..or Sillinger in Oz - that nazi prick.

Oh how close I was to going to the game when he returned to T.O, a sign in my hands with a picture of Zo and a bullseye on his kidney saying ‘AIM HERE’.

In the words of some Jewish guy on a Passionate eye documentary..”Peace divides, War unites” and i say we unite and wage some Jihad on this afghani goat ball lickin poompenshaft.

I take Dallas in 6..for the sole reason that Zo will be present on the other side. And cuz i want Dirk to have some crazy games so I can hear Mike Toth say DIRRRKKHHH NOVVVITZKII.
Thus making me 1/1 in predictions with a 1000.00 fg %.

First off Harsimran Singh, let’s not go crazy. Even if Wade wins the championship he won’t surpass Kobe. This Heat season reminds me of the 00-01 Lakers season where Shaq was out of shape and injured for most of the season and Kobe put the Lakers on his back droppin 30 a game and Playoff time Shaq showed up and dominated. However, this time they didn’t cruise thru the playoffs and in the Finals they have a worthy opponent. I also would LIKE to say Dallas will win in 6 but as tradition has it I will got with Miami in 7.

Shaq will have to dominate this series because Dirk on the other side will be ruining Haslem, Posey and Walker. J-Will have to play like he did in game 6 as the JET and Harris will give the Heat all they can handle. Having Dampier, Diop and Mbenga(Not until game 5) the Mavs have more than enough fouls to give on Shaq. So far this year in the playoffs, Miami hasn’t played anyone with a deep bench like the Mavs and that could end up being the difference but then again Shaq himself is a BIG load to handle for anyone.

Heat in 7. Shaq wins 4th Ring + 4th NBA Finals MVP.

And to harp….quit hating on Zo, Babcock is an idiot for that entire fiasco….

Hmmm,

Well lets just mke it simple and straight. Heat gonna win this in 5. They gonna take one in Big D and then just take over at home. They gonna close em out at home.

As for matchups, theres no contest. Miami goes 10 deep. Mavs go to Stack and Daniels and then the rest of em cant do ****. Dun even say Van Horn because this is not the Phoenix Suns who dont have Bigs. We talkin bout Miami.

Shaq, Haslem, Walker, Wade, Williams, Posey, Payton, Mourning, Anderson and Kapono a spare but sometimes hot shooter.

Thats 10 huys who can play against 7. Whatever man bottom Line Heat takin it in 5.

I will be 14/15 when this thing ends. Only loss being Suns in last round.

Edmonton in 6 for all the Hockey Lovers.

He was up by 12 at one point and i came back tied it. WIth 25seconds to go man dem killed clock n shot a 2pointer wit wade wit 4secs to go he missed i grabs boards TO!!!!!! Disco dirk drops one as the clock reads.06. Wade inbounds shooots scoressssss but sadly time expired I won 104-102 wit Disco Dirk droppin 70pts n jet rackin up 15asts. The moral of this story: Heat will keep it close but Dallas in 6.

Yes Jairay–

Go Heat,

Since this being thursday, roughly 12 hours till tip-off, let me again reiterate my sentiment towards miami.

Shaq has averages 32.3 points and 13.3 boards in the nba finals. (all five times he’s been there.) To tell you the truth, no matter how much Shaq has cooled down he wants that 4th mvp.. He can butter up Wade as much as he wants but shaq is taking 20 shots a game no matter what.

Diop and Dampier (d-d), are big and tall, no doubt. However, shaq is bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter. They will do their best to hold shaq, but they wont be able to do a better job then big-ben I think.

On the other hand Disco is playing nuts. but to tell you the truth who did he do it against? (tim thomas?, bowen who is 7 inches smaller? duncan, who has a hobbled ankle?) Haslem is rough stuff man. He is one of the reasons shaq came to miami, He quoted yesterday saying how he plays rough, with ill D and grabs boards. Truss Haslem to hassle nowitzki.

Flash is just that…Flash! No one will stop him, even if he has a tissue in one hand and the ball in the other. He will get his.

All in all Shaquille is still Akbar,
In closing: If I was will smith and I was talking ot the Larry o’brien trophy I would say:

‘Welcome to Miami”

Miami in 5 !

My bad I didnt know about the 2-3-2 schedule for the finals.

I think it makes a huge differnce, it favours Dallas alot. But agian it still is a toss up.

The KEY for Maimi winning is stealing game 1 or 2, Its impertive they take 1 game of the first two, if they do they will win.

And thats how I’m summing this series up, If Maimi doesnt win 1 of the first 2 games they loose and Dallas wins, if they do win 1 of the first 2 games Maimi will win.

Soccer is illll, dont kno what u talkin about. Try watching a Champions league game with me…Arsenal vs say..Barcelona and tell me it sucks. The Champions league final this year was nuts. One of the best sporting events all year. Italian soccer can get boring tho still (there strict defensive play), but there is a resaon why everyone outside of the United States loves soccer.
(Carolina vs Edmonton..game of the century.. got madd low ratings in U.S..like comon what do Americans know) You need to broaden your scope son, Basketball aint the centre of the Universe. Don’t hate on something if you havent watched it properly ( watching for a couple minutes at a time dont count) But I guess there are two types of fans..you got your sports fans..who love there Raptors..love the Jays..love the leafs.. and than you got ur every-sport-sucks-but-the-one-i-follow fans.
And now back to contributing to society.

I feel like calling him up to chill and jus cracking jokes with him. He would make fun of my phug, I would make fun of his blackness..I can picture it now. Ive liked the guy since the Afernee days, to the time he started making the Yao Ming jokes.
But mann that Ben Wallace block made me loose a lot of respect for his playing ability. I jus couldnt believe it happened, keeps playing over and over in my head. Dallas and Dirk are on more of a roll going into this series, and they got the stamina to get through it. I dont know if I can say the same for the Heat. And the home court advantage just tips the scale too much in Dallas’s favour.

After watching last nights game, I am officially backing miami 100%.

Firstly was it just me or did ABC seem to favour Dallas in there coverage? Also Dallas now comes across as being to-goodie-two shoes type of team, the kid who kisses *** and has all the parents falling in love with him, type of team.

As far as Miami loosing, to quote my man, “They played like **** and still only lost by 10″. This was a must loose game for Miami. It’ll feed that fire, anger them a bit, and now they are ready to unleash hell.

Plus how can you not love Wade. Fall 7 times, get up 8.

After Game Thoughts

Game 5 of the finals was without a doubt the best game of the year in my mind. It had everything in it, large deficit comebacks, many lead changes, outrageous clutch shooting, doubt/nervousness about your team winning, old veteran proving he still has game, a suspension, couple of records broken, and overtime. It was like every NBA story rolled up into one game. The phrase; “If you don’t like this, you don’t like NBA basketball” pops to mind.
The game was great cant say much more about it, so I’ll talk about the players.

Jason Terry: A stone cold killer, he’s the type of guy who would rip your heart out, then shoot you in the head with a ak47 just to make sure your dead.

Devin Harris: Mazda sums it up pretty nicely “Zoom Zoom”

Dirk Nowitzki: Amazing player, but has been a flop in the finals so far, he wins the “most times a 7 footer has fallen to the ground” award. (It’s made out of real NBA hardwood)

Eric Dampier: Cherry Picker

Jerry Stackhouse: I feel like he was sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

Udonis Haslem: This guys a Tru-Warrior, he needs to be signed by Ron Artest’s record label. Works real hard and is relentless, like people trying to convince me soccer isn’t boring.

Jason Williams: Hahaha a black guy trapped in a white guys body. I give him props for those crazy pull up 3pointers, you know the ones that make a true Maimi fans (Harsimran) heart skip a beat.

Gary Payton: Somewhere Adam Sandler has that remote from his movie and is clicking the “Gary Payton of 96” button on and off for jokes.

Shaq: Thinks he’s Superman, but has been playing like he’s driving his Escalade with the parking brake on. Haha if he’s Superman there’s got to be kryptonite embedded in the foul line, 2 for 12? (Yes! Mark Cuben aka Lex Luthor must of put it there)

Dwayne Wade: This guy has ice water in his veins, he’s just freezing players on the spot. Calm and cool under pressure to the exponent 23. Jordonesque!

Yes that game was one of the best games this year (not the best though, i think thas game 4 lakers and suns still).

It should have had a better ending I think, refs should have used some descretion on taht timeout call.

The reason shaq is being held back is, yes age, but more importantly he is tenative and passive, when he makes a quick move, he gets fouled or he dunks on mans (mbenga and erica got it)…His FT shooting is appauling, baychara thinks too much

The glove fits…man is getting killed on D, but that circa 1995 left handed layup high off glass was ill..

yes jay-will makes me skip a beat enough times, so does walker

posey == the man
haslem == “UH” “UBER HEART”…man is amazing…shaq sums it up best: clemenza

Wade: What cna i say to do him justice?
