Kobe == (Lebron || Wade) ?

Writing by shinda on Tuesday, 20 of June , 2006

Having just read Simmon’s article on game 5, I’m left to wonder if Kobe Bryant will ever equal or become as good as either Leborn or Wade?

Many of you are probably shaking your head and like Cuban thinking, what a f’d up question, considering Kobe is older then the two, and accomplished more then either of the two combined. But if one was to do a projection graph for either of these 2 super stars, then its safe to say that the extrapolated data, would show these 2 far above Bryant and in a league closer to Jordan then anyone before them..

So being to lazy to go into this any further I’ll let you all decide…

So let’s see. Kobe was 22 when he won his first championship but he didn’t play much of a role. At age 23 he won his second and played a much bigger role. He carried the Lakers in game 4 vs the Pacers when Shaq fouled out. That was when he showed he got game. At age 24 he played even a bigger role as the Lakers won their third championship and for most of that season he carried the Lakers as he averaged over 30points a game as Shaq was injued for the majority of the season. But at the end of the day Shaq was the main man. LeBron can be better than Kobe as soon as he gets that killer instinct. Wade is nuts right now but I would still take Kobe over him. The same thing that was said about Kobe, I will say about Wade. Even though Shaq is not the same he still demanding the double team and if Shaq wasnt there Wade would be doubled team. I would take a Kobe-Shaq team over Wade-Shaq any day of the week. And if I had to choose between Kobe and Wade, I’d take Kobe day of the week. Kobe is a good defender as well as an amazing scorer and at 24 he could score as well as defend. And as for LeBron, he’s a totally different player than both of these guys. Bron Bron could end up being better than both of these guys. I will elaborate on this later as I look forward to your reponses, especially you know who’s. In the words of Shinda: His name will no longer be mentioned in any conversation from this point forward.

Man I love Kobe, but what Wade did was at another level..

Gagan was so afraid of Wade breaking kobe’s legacy he started to vote for the mavs to win..It truly broke my heart.

If you want to compare those three games to Mike’s I would say Wade is the closest for two reasons.

1. maturity
2. shot selection and calm aura

bron just has maturity to an extent
and kobe just has that calm aura

but even pippen said it before gmae 6 that wade is the closest thing to jordan.

in the words of Sukhwinder Singh
“Superman didn’t return. but instead it was God himself”
Wade is God

Yo no Doubt Wade is the closest thing to Jordan. Kobes in a league of his own, he’s a much better shooter than Jordan ever was n say wat u want, the man dem scored 81. Kobe is Kobe or in the words of Cabbie Richards the Jack Bauer of the NBA.

I would take a 2006 Wade to play with shaq over kobe 1996-2006…or better yet I would take a 2006 Wade to play with a 1996-2003 Shaq….
that would be atlesat 5 or 6 rings

Harsimran come on now. You should know more than anyone that there is no way a 1996-2003 Shaq would let Wade domintae the game the way he does. Remember the Prime Time Shaq once said, I’m too big to ride in the backseat of anyones car, even Wades. Wade has said it himself that because of the situations with Penny and Kobe, Shaq is dealing with Wade with a different prespective. And I’d take a 2000-2001 Playoff Kobe.

the bottom line is wade is humble……….which kobe never was

kobe was given everyhitng before he deserved it…
ie. hte nickname
the fame
everyting

on the other hand wade deserved everything he got
he was behind james and melofrom that draft class
he was in kobe’s shadow
he was too small

no he is a champion. that it why i think he can play second fiddle to a 1997-2003 shaq better than kobe

Wade is humble, but I wasn’t talking bout that. I was talking about Shaq. Like I said before, during his prime he said numerous times that He won’t be Robin no1s Batman, he won’t sit in the back. The point here is SHAQ wudnt let Wade be Wade just as he didn’t let Kobe be Kobe. N Kobe doesnt even have a nickname they jus call him by his name. The fame? it aint his fault hes too damn good. Other than Bron Bron no other 19 or 20yr old kid had the balls to say if no1 wants to take this last shot I’ll do it. I’ll take the blame, the criticism as he did during those early years where they got rocked by the Jazz.

“no other 19 or 20yr old kid had the balls to say if no1 wants to take this last shot”
Those last threes were airballs…Kobe should not have taken them…

Wade would have been happy being robin…although kobe wasnt

thas all i’m sayin…Wade knows he needs Shaq, Kobe still thinks he doesnt need Shaq

KOBE! Straight up no if’s and’s or but’s. Kobe knew he needed. All he said is that one day he wants his own team. Wade doesn’t have that attitude because he had his own team before Shaw and it was basically his own team this season. He’s the Batman now. The roles are interchangeable but Wade’s doing the majority of the dominating now. Kobenever asked to take those shots against the Jazz either. The coach drew up the call for him. Alright? Kobe averaged 35, 5, and 5 for the season. That was NOT, I repeat NOT ballhogging. It was what was expected from him. With Shaq in his best year he averaged 25, 5, and 5, but for some reason back then there weren’t that many Kobe haters and he was no doubt one of the top 2 players in the L. that’s all I gotta say.
