V for Valiant Effort

Congratulations to my boy Mandeep AKA Mugsy Dhaliwal who at the age of 21, 2 years out of high school, going only on his own personal wit, despite all the false allegations of us robbing, threatening, vandalizing and harassing Vicky still pulled out 3000 votes in an election that often goes to those who pull out 2500.
Although we didn’t win this time, it took Vicky two tries, a taxi licence and a house to get where he did. Seeing as how you did it with none of that, other then the support of the people around you, consider yourself off to a good start.
Now although the tone of the post may sound bitter, its far from it. I never expected Vicky to win, I never expected any of the desi’s to truthfully win. The fact that one (he) did, impresses me. I may not agree with his tactics but then again this is politics everything goes, and so it did, and for that I will congratulate him for doing what was needed to win. End of the day that’s what counts, the W or in this case the reserved parking spot in City Hall with your our name on it, is what counts after all the ballots are tallied.
But as premature as it may sound, the pressure is now on. Every bill and vote that you pass/make will be scrutinized. Every promise made will be held against you for the next 4 years, and in that time you have the chance to either break or make your place in City Hall. After all as impressive as your (Vicky’s) victory maybe, realize that you not only helped school us as to what level we need to compete at, but you raised the bar, which means next time around everyone will step there game up just that much more.

Yo anybody who seen the debates, the speeches and all teh stuff that matters it was beyond clear Mandeep deserved the victory. Now we got a guy who cant speak english repping our area, which is in serious need of some basic facilities n ****. “Jes, ward 9, 10 need library for jouth to study for papers.”

We should just start raising our own breed of people lol. Have kids raised and apart of the community and taking part in community events to build a name for themselves and then when they get out of Highschool have them apart in politics. A Kid- Have you seen him speak he spoke better than anyone in this election for councillor. Look at his speech level. He couldn’t speak at all when he started. He has done so much. I know that HE is the future of Politics in Canada. His speech level now can compete with Mp’s and MPPs in the area. Remember Navdeep was past 25 when he got elected. Mandeep is only 21. I don’t know why you would call him a kid but then again everyone has their own opinion.

Why are we making fun of each other. Vicky Dhillon won and he deserved to win. He is a down to earth person who we should all get together and support. Already the refs are telling him to do this and that, ie legalize basement apts. It’s not easy for one person to get anything done in City Hall. Brampton City Hall is a very very very racist place. I have had many dealings with the staff there. And on top of that Vicky has to deal with his own community pulling him down. Lets all get together and help Vicky get the job done and show the goraye that we are a united community. Otherwise what is gonna happen is that next election 4 other desis will run and Vicky will lose and the KALA or GORA will win, which is shameful on our part. Look at what happened in the school trustee for 2-9-10 wards. A KALI won!!!!! what joke, we had like 5 punjabis running and split the vote. When will our people realize this?!?!?! Is this what Guru Gobind Singh imagined sikhs would be doing when he created us? Everyone should sit down and think really think about where we want to take brampton. We should have at least 3 city councillors. Now at least we have one, but we all must support him. I support Mandeep too, next time he should run for the regional, or in another ward to aviod vote splitting.

We need to grow up as mentioned by Turbanator, why can’t we accept that Vicky won instead of bringing up that it took him his house and a taxi license to where he got now. Go check his background in his PIND, they are loaded people. We should be thanking Waheguru that we got one person in city hall. Talking of English, a 5 year old can speak very good english as well, no offense to Mandeep, but high school graduate almost equals to an illitrate. COme on stop leg pulling and help Vicky to maek us proud in City Hall and help him win next time, so that we can get other bright people like Mandeep winning from other wards.

couple people said a few bad things about vicky but most people didnt, nothign is wrong with vicky dhillon, and noo high school graduate isnt almost equal to illiterate because i think nimrit didnt get one because she didnt even spell illiterate right… as i was saying, nothing is wrong with vicky but people here are strong supporters of mandeep and we would love to see our brother win, people support who they want and oppose who they want, thats what makes a government…my main reason for voting for mandeep was because he was a youth before and he knows what we need and what would help our community, hes now an adult and he would have been able to help needs in that case also…no doubt some people need to stop being sore losers on mandeeps side, but MANY people need to stop being over excited supporters on vicky’s side because he need to start proving to people that he deserved those people’s votes and by the way all we can do is give him our input whether he wants to listen to us is up to him…you walk into your MP’s office they arent gonna listen to a 19 or 20 year old at all…he better start holding it down on his own cuz i already went to give him some input and i didnt get a very friendly sit down

First you should learn about both of the candidates and then talk. Go to Pearson Airport Taxi area and ask them about Vicky, you’ll learn a lot about him then come back and talk.
