All right so I’m quickly slipping back into a youtube aggregate slump, it’s just that time of year I guess, but some videos are just to funny to pass up on.

Not much I can add to whats already been written, I think the article speaks for itself.

I think the title is partially misleading because I don’t share the view that there is any real Sikh leadership at the present time. Instead we got various groups all vying to take a leadership role but end up constantly stepping on one an others toes over jatha-beefs which leads to, more infighting that anything else. As the saying goes there are to many chefs in the kitchen, all thinking they know better then the next, and with no impartial moderator in place, you never do reach a consensus, rather everyone doing there own thing and constantly getting in each others way.

It was because of this lack of leadership post 84 that many Shaheed Parvaars were left with little in means of financial support which in fact goes only to discourages others from making sacrifices as they fear for the safety and wellbeing of the family that they may leaving behind.

Although Jatha’s do there part and there are various organizations that do there best to look after the well being of the Shaheeds, such organizations, don’t have deep pockets, and those organizations that do, don’t feel that the responsibility should fall on them as they were not the ones responsible. For instance Sant Smaaj was named, but they figure it was the Jathedars of the SGPC who incited Singhs to rise up, so it should be on the SGPC to now take the responsibility, SGPC feels that those who made the calls and speeches did so on their own behalf’s and not as representatives of the SGPC as a whole, therefore they should take sole responsibility. Amongst all the finger pointing no one ends up taking any responsibility and everyone gets themselves off the hook.

The only real solution to this really falls back on us as individuals to keep track of where we give out daswand to, and those organizations that we choose to support. In the end if you can’t hold those you’re donating to accountable, or if the money isn’t going where you want it to, then one really needs to reconsider where they are donating to.
