Nothing but a Gangster Party..

Writing by shinda on Thursday, 21 of June , 2007

It took a minute, but I finally found the CBC Documentary from a few years back on the Indo Canadian Gang problem. I remember when the CBC first aired this special, it was the talk of the town, with some pissed that the CBC worked so hard to showcase the dark side of the community while others took it as a wake up call.

I think the thing people need to remember is most of this violence is largely drug related, not saying that it makes it right, but once you get into the drug game getting killed is just part of the game, so if you don’t want to get killed just don’t do drugs.

Although Toronto’s drug scene isn’t near as notable as that of the west coasts, it’s only a matter of time before we catch the media’s attention here, especially seeing as how Brampton has been dubbed the central hub for majority of drug imports/exports on this side of Canada.  It’s not a proven fact, but it is the word on the block, with most of the jails filled with Punjabis caught trying to smuggle in drugs from the South) but the majority of the crimes seems to be the trafficking and smuggling of the packgaes rather then the local distribution of it (where most gang  land violence seems to stem from).

Then again without any solid figures and stats, the above amounts to being nothing more then speculation and hearsay, but then again all those Hummers rollingg around Brampton may speak a different story.

I remember when my friend sent me this video, I also found it perplexing that CBC would choose to air a video that shows such a negative light on a certain ethnicity. However, CBC is known for hiring and promoting cultural affairs, so it does send a mixed message

However, a couple things need to be remembered I think. Firstly, Brampton is not part of Toronto. It is a suburb outside of Toronto, which is handled completely different from gangs within Toronto. The peel regional police obviously does not have the same capabilties nor do they need the same capabilities as the Toronto Police have.

Within Toronto, gangs and drug trade are a huge problem. Toronto police are on the verge of LAPD as far as they handle the problem. Anywhere from racist tactics to just sheer beatings, the city of toronto has reached a dire situation.

Brampton is nowhere at that level yet. Im not saying that it isnt bad in Brampton, but compared to Toronto, it has not reached dire levels yet.

Also, brampton WONT have to worry about that. Sure, the odd drug dealers are going to exist in even the richest of areas, but brampton, a upper middle class area has nothing to worry about. I sweep of drug rings, like Toronto seems to have every 2 months, would cripple the drug trade there. Considering the massive gangs in Toronto, worldwide gangs; the Indo-Canadian drug dealers are a drop in the ocean.

Also, I know you didnt mean this Shinda, but the Hummers speak more about the fact that it is a good area, rather than the hummers being a result of drug money.

My two cents.

The fact that you dont see the irony in the fact I used a alias, as did Aristole/t and sonia did, shows VOLUMES about your logic and understanding ‘t’ or ‘artistole’ or whatever you want to be called.

PS- This is not MSN messanger, your cute attempts for picture messages dont work. I take your ‘great job’, and I send it back your way.

Why hasn’t the media picked up on a Punjabi drug problem in Brampton? I lived here my entire life, and I like to think I know a lot of the people from going to school here etc. And I don’t know too many people who have been booked for hardcore drug trafficing sentences or anything. Only the odd story here n there. Either these drug dealers are doing a good job of not getting into the spotlight, or Shinda is stirrin up a problem that doesn’t exist.

Just some things I figured are worth clearing up since people are starting to get things twisted:

The punjabi drug problem and the trucking ring is a known problem in Brampton. Like I stated earlier most drug related crime occurs in the form of turf wars and or at the street level with people on corners dealing. This is not the case in Brampton, rather Brampton is the home of drug trafficking in Ontario. The majority of those who import drugs into the East Coast are residents of Brampton.

The drugs aren’t being grown or prepared in Brampton, they aren’t even being dealt in Brampton, but those who are involved in the IMPORT of these drugs are known to be from Brampton.

Majority of those involved are young immagrints looking to flip some change as fast as they can.

Having talked about the above with lawyers, bankers and other professionals it is an accepted problem within our community.

Breif conversations with border police at Windsor border and in passing conversation with them flat out stating that they search trucks belonging to drivers from Brampton as being part of protocol and also that they thought the Khanda was the gang insignia as many of the trucks supporting it had been stopped and found to have been involved in such cases.

For those wanting media attention to the matter:

Brampton Guardian Story from a few year back: http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v06/n099/a01.html?397

York U study on Organized Crime Heads, highlighting incident of Gurdish Mangat from 2004 -
http://www.yorku.ca/nathanson/CurrentEvents/2004_Q2.htm#Corruption

Talk with those involved in dispatch and they openly admit the money and drugs are there since they are commonly approached to help out.

A lot of what I’m saying can be proven by some simple follow up. A search through news databases will show that this has been covered in the media, yet has been given the blind eye by the community.

Shinda…. all brampton is a bunch of refs who come from india… start driving a truck… and in their desire to get rich start smuggling drugs. Brampton trafficking is…

1 - a bunch of reffed out truck drivers trying to get rich
2 - bunch of lil kids thinking they’re g-unit

Point is… that there are no legit organized crime groups in brampton (not within the punjabi community atleast), just a bunch of little kids and reffed out truck drivers who are essentially the b*tches of the real drug lords who sit far outside of brampton…

Also, Brampton doesnt deserve a spotlight except maybe for the treatment of mental retardation and a call for the inspection of the water treatment plants (because clearly they arent working)…. You need to stop trying to make this a punjabi problem…. drugs are a societal issue at large.. the only reason its effecting the punjabi community in brampton, is because punjabis are the majority… this has nothing to do with “our” community…. rather it is an issue plaguing all communities.

Hey quiet mr. ill get my shot in every once in a while, at the same time not defending my views Shinda…

Read this article…

Notice the comparison of Khalistan violence movement to islamic terrorism (no difference in the justification of violence, and no difference in what they percieve as right). Note why the violence movement is thriving in canada and US (not for long, if the conservatives are re-elected)

This is the state of our religion on the world front.

I hope you watched the CBC documentry on a couple days ago about the float in the Surrey Nagar Kirtan which had a picture of Parmar the biggest terrorist in Canadian history being floated about as a “matyr”– float organized by many youth not even alive during 84 and the bombings.

THe person responsible for the kllings of most canadians in history, including sikhs and many young children from ages of 1 to a couple of months.

If this movement was for increased sikh rights, and done purely by political means (not using the garbage excuse of ‘we tried- obviously a lie) and not being as low as the people who killed us in 84, I would be behind it.

But calling someone a matyr and parading them around at Nagar Kirtan who asked for 50,000 hindus to be killed is an absolutely disgrace. Calling them kuthay and burning their pictures of their god is absolutely disgrace. Thats not Sikhi, thats just disrespect. And to hail them as heros along side Guru Gobind Singh ji, is insane.

Those kids and people who died on that plane did nothing wrong, and to think that they died and the murderer is a hero…. thats my religious state, no way buddy
